Trump orders staff to boycott annual White House Correspondents Association dinner

President Trump has ordered his administration to boycott the annual White House Correspondents Association dinner, an event that Mr. Trump will skip for the third straight year.

White House Cabinet Secretary Bill McGinley announced that all Trump administration officials are being ordered to boycott the dinner.

“The president and members of his administration will not attend the White House Correspondents Dinner this year,” a senior administration official said Tuesday. “Instead, Saturday evening President Trump will travel to Green Bay, Wisconsin where he will hold a campaign rally.”

Olivier Knox, president of the WHCA, responded by saying, “We’re looking forward to an enjoyable evening of celebrating the First Amendment and great journalists past, present, and future.”

At last year’s dinner, comedian Michelle Wolf skewered White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was a guest of honor seated on the dais.
