Hegseth says no more men in dresses: ‘We’re done with that’

At 8:45 PM Eastern Time on Monday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave remarks at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.

Hegseth traveled to Florida to "engage with senior U.S. and partner nation special operations leaders" during SOF week.

"SOF Week is an annual conference held in Tampa for the international SOF community to learn, connect, and honor its members. The event is jointly sponsored by USSOCOM and Global SOF. The 2024 edition attracted over 19,000 attendees."

During his remarks, Hegseth said, ""No more dudes in dresses. We’re done with that sh**."

Hegseth said, "[Reform] has been my top priority from day one — rebuilding the military ethic... We are leaving behind the angst and the weakness.

"No more pronouns, no more obsession with climate change..."

"We are focused on lethality, meritocracy, accountability, standards, and readiness. That's why recruiting and retention rates have gone up since Election Day."'

Hegseth's speech came a day before news hit Tuesday that the Supreme Court "sided with the Trump administration in lifting a lower court order that paused the Pentagon's transgender military ban from taking effect – allowing Trump's order and related policies to proceed, at least."

Amid rumors that Hegseth would be canned, President Trump recently commented on the Defense Secretary's toughness. The President added that 'Hegseth is safe' from being replaced.
