The New York Post reported, "Far-right influencer Nick Fuentes said an armed “would-be assassin” wanted in a triple murder came to his home in Illinois to kill him Wednesday night — before cops fatally shot the unhinged man in a neighbor’s yard, according to an account largely confirmed by police.
Fuentes, 26 — known for promoting racist, sexist and antisemitic views online — shared video of a gun- and crossbow-toting attacker on his doorstep in Berwyn, blaming it on the address being leaked online.
“Last night an armed killer made an attempt on my life at my home, which was recently doxed on this platform,” Fuentes wrote on X, saying his doorbell footage caught him yelling, “Yo, Nick!”
“The gunman carried a pistol, crossbow, and incendiary devices. I believe he intended to kill me. He is now dead. I am okay!”
“The would-be assassin committed a triple homicide in southern Illinois early yesterday before he arrived at my doorstep with his pistol drawn, calling my name,” he added.
“The killer drove 2.5 hours directly to my house,” he said later.
Fuentes’ description of the disturbing incident aligns with a statement released by Berwyn police officers, who said they responded to a gunman on the block where Fuentes lives at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Chicago Sun Times. Police did not, however, say if they thought he intended to harm Fuentes.
The crazed suspect, John Lyons, 24, of Westchester, Illinois, bolted from Fuentes’ block to a nearby home — then inexplicably killed two dogs before running into another neighbor’s yard, police said.
Lyons — who was wanted in the southern Illinois town of Mahomet for a triple murder — disobeyed commands from officers and began shooting at police, according to cops.
Officers returned fire and killed him in a dramatic shootout, police said.
Fuentes posted surveillance camera footage showing a person wearing a motorcycle helmet and carrying what appeared to be a gun and crossbow on his porch.
“I was livestreaming at the time. He rings the doorbell, tries the doorknob and yells ‘yo Nick!’” Fuentes wrote on X.
The incident came one day before Fuentes — a Holocaust denier and accused white supremacist — was set to appear in court for a criminal case in which he allegedly attacked another person who showed up at his door.
Fuentes faces a charge for allegedly pepper-spraying 57-year-old Marla Rose when she confronted him on Nov. 10 about a controversial social media post he made."
