Political correctness has run wild on college campuses, and armies of social justice warriors are willing to purge any professors or administrators unwilling to conform to their standards.
Administrators at Johns Hopkins University placed adjunct economics professor Trent Bertrand on paid leave for the rest of the semester due to his unwillingness to comply with political correctness.
In an e-mail dated November 17 from the Economics Department Chair Larry Ball obtained by Red Alert Politics, several students had complained that Bertrand was politically incorrect in the classroom and had offended them.
“I am attempting to reach you about an urgent matter,” Ball said in an e-mail to Bertrand. “To get right to the point: I have recently learned that a number of students in your international trade class have made allegations that there is a hostile environment for them in your classroom. This has been reported to the Deans Office, and the Office of Institutional Equity is beginning a formal investigation.”
Bertrand explained in a follow-up e-mail that he had been teaching the class the same way for the last six years and had never received any complaint.
