Trump, Clinton in dead heat in new national poll

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are locked in a dead heat as the race heads toward Election Day, according to a new national poll.

The Investor's Business Daily and TechnoMetrica Market Intelligencedaily poll released Monday shows Trump supported by 41.2 percent of the voters and Clinton's support at 41.1 percent in a four-way race. The third party candidates considered by voters gained a point in the newest poll, Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson is at 8 percent and Green Party's Jill Stein is at 4 percent.

In a head-to-head matchup, Trump is at 42.3 percent support and Clinton at 42 percent.

Trump maintains a slight edge over Clinton regarding voter enthusiasm, as 66 percent of voters said they strongly support the controversial candidate. Clinton trails slightly at 64 percent.

The Republican's most devoted backers are white men (56 percent to Clinton's 27 percent), people living in rural areas (57 percent to 23 percent), and the much-sought-after independent voters (41 percent to 32 percent). Union members are with the Democrats (54 percent for Clinton to 25 percent for Trump), as are single women (50 percent to 30 percent) and minority voters like blacks and Hispanics (68 percent to 13 percent).
