Threat to Romney in Senate, not Trump, his proposals 'will be killed'

Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney won’t have to look over his shoulder for any White House efforts to punish him for voting to convict President Trump on an impeachment charge.
That’s because the payback is much more likely to come from fellow GOP senators who are considering holding up any Romney initiatives, we hear.

“It is what it is. Romney brought this on himself. It was sour grapes for Trump winning the presidency and him not,” said a Senate insider. "Any Romney proposal will be killed," said the source.

Still, with the GOP majority slim, others are urging the party move past its rage because his vote will be needed to push through conservative programs and judges. “Right now, folks are, rightly so, planning how to get Romney back, and they are angry. But from a vote perspective, we still need him in the tent,” said a Senate aide.
The aide added, "We still need to confirm the president's nominees."
