Megyn Kelly leaving Fox News for NBC

Star anchor Megyn Kelly is leaving the Fox News for NBC News, the network confirmed Tuesday.

Kelly, who hosts her own prime-time show on Fox, is heading to the network to host a daytime news program. She will also host a Sunday night show and participate in special programming, according to the New York Times.

Spokespersons for Fox News did not return a request for comment from the Washington Examiner.

"Megyn is an exceptional journalist and news anchor, who has had an extraordinary career" Andrew Lack, head of NBC News, said in a statement confirming the news. "She's demonstrated tremendous skill and poise, and we're lucky to have her."

In a post on her Facebook page, Kelly also made the move official.
