Last week's revelation that Hollywood titan Harvey Weinstein has a history of sexual harassment has left many in the media in an awkward position as they determine how to react to the misdeeds of someone they either know personally or professionally.
The Weinstein bombshell had a direct financial impact on some in the media.
MSNBC "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski announced Saturday morning on Twitter that she would not go forward with a book deal she had with Weinstein Books, unless he resigned from its parent organization, the Weinstein Company.
"Authors, actors, and moviemakers should not work for any Weinstein company until he resigns," she added in another tweet. "Not a close call."
Former NBC "Today" anchor Tamron Hall may end up having to make a similar decision. In July, the Weinstein Company announced that it had partnered with Hall to develop a daytime talk show.
The Weinstein Company did announce on Sunday that it had fired the long celebrated movie mogul from his own company. But neither Hall nor the Weinstein Company returned a request for comment from the Washington Examiner on whether production or planning for the Hall show has changed in light of the harassment news.
