Hillary ups her youth vote game with new hires

Hillary Clinton has had her weak points with young voters, to put it mildly, but now that she is the presumptive Democratic nominee, she’s stepping up her game on outreach efforts.

During the primary season, Bernie Sanders expressed doubt that she could effectively appeal to his base, and told supporters they would have to think for themselves who to vote for. National and state exit polls would agree with his doubt.

On Friday CBS News reported on three new hires to help Hillary with her millennial engagement program. Kunoor Ojha was Bernie Sanders’ national director of student organizing and Sanders’ New Hampshire campus director, where Sanders enjoyed 83 percent of the support from 18-29 year olds. She will work on expanding Clinton’s campus engagement.

Anne Hubert from Viacom will be advising on multiplatform messaging outreach. She’s worked for MTV, which is targeting young voters to support its liberal causes under the guise of youth outreach.

Sarah Audelo, formerly the political director of the non-partisan Rock the Vote will be the youth vote director to focus on millennial organizing efforts. She has also worked for Generation Progress and Advocates for Youth, both liberal organizations.
