Clinton misuses image of a Muslim Bernie delegate: She’s not happy, tweets #StillSanders

Hillary Clinton’s campaign got called out for using a picture of a woman weeping at the Democratic National Convention with the tag line “we made history.” It turns out though that the delegate was crying for Bernie Sanders’ speech.

Nida Allam was the woman in the picture. She’s a delegate from North Carolina and proud supporter of the Vermont Senator, so much so that she became emotional when he conceded that she began to cry.

Never missing an opportunity, the Hillary Clinton campaigned used the photo in a tweet as if Allam was weeping for the historical moment a woman was nominated for president.

Allam wasted no time calling them out for their hypocrisy and proudly announced that she was still not supporting Clinton.

“I was upset that my emotions were being used by her when she did not truthfully earn my vote,” Allam said to Mic’s Sarah Harvard during a phone interview. “She is getting it solely by default.”
