Bernie backs the ant-Trump protests, wants to scrap the electoral college

Democrats and progressives had a terrible day on Tuesday. They failed to win back the Presidency, Senate, House, or any single state government.

As a result, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is now calling on his supporters to rage against the dying of the light and perhaps reform the electoral college.

In an interview with WKYC published on Monday, the Vermont Senator said that it’s a good thing when people express their First Amendment rights through protest.

“People are angry. People are upset. And they want to express their point of view that they are very frightened, in very, very strong disagreement with Mr. Trump, who has made bigotry the cornerstone of his campaign,” Sanders said. “I think that people are saying, ‘Mr. Trump, we have come too far in this country fighting discrimination and bigotry. We’re not going back. And if you’re going to continue that effort, you’re going to have to take us on.'”

Sanders said that the protestors should look at reforming the electoral college process, which has denied them the presidency twice even though they won the popular vote – in both 2000 and 2016.
