Trump: 'Celebrate Martin Luther King day'

President-elect Trump urged Americans to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy on Monday.

"Celebrate Martin Luther King Day and all of the many wonderful things that he stood for. Honor him for being the great man that he was!" Trump tweeted Monday morning.

Trump is meeting with King's son, Martin Luther King III, in New York City on Monday, incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said. They'll be talking about how best to honor King's legacy and how to tackle racism.

Trump spent the weekend sparring with Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat who worked with King and is seen as a civil rights icon. Lewis said he didn't view Trump as a legitimate president, leading Trump to tell him to focus on working on "crime infested and burning" inner cities.
