Sanders unloads on lazy media

Former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders has a message for Washington's political press corps: Shut up.

In his new campaign book Our Revolution, and in face-to-face conversations with reporters, the Vermont senator is demanding that the media shift focus from politics to policies that impact the lives of Americans.

Pressed by a reporter on who he thought would run for president in 2020, Sanders blasted, "This is incredible ... We haven't even inaugurated this president, and we're talking about 2020 because it's easy to write about."

He demanded that the media report on climate change, wages and crime.

"Those are the issues the American people need to be engaged in. To start talking about who's going to be running in 2080 ... I don't mean to be rude, but the American people are tired of that, they really are," Sanders said at a roundtable sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor.
