Report: The ‘Fight for 15’ will kill 7 million jobs

Protestors are gathering in 28 state capitals on Monday to fight for a minimum wage of $15 an hour, but even though they claim to be advocates for the working class, their policies are putting millions out of work.

While unions like SEIU don’t even pay their own workers $15 an hour, their demands could mean the end of millions of jobs for low-skilled workers without college degrees, including many millennials and minorities.

A study from the Heritage Foundation found that more than 7.3 million workers would lose their jobs if all 28 states raised their minimum wages.

The states that would suffer the biggest job losses include Texas (986,000), California (981,000), Florida (727,000), New York (434,000), and North Carolina (367,000).

California and New York passed minimum wage hikes for fast food employees in April, and by early May the Wendy’s franchise announced they were replacing 6,000 jobs with self-serving kiosks.
