Planned Parenthood registering voters at colleges and its clinics

Despite its supposed focus on healthcare at its clinics, abortion provider Planned Parenthood will be adding politics into the mix by registering voters at its clinics, at colleges, and elsewhere, The Huffington Post reported. The campaign, “My Vote, My Voice” is being billed as non-partisan, despite Planned Parenthood having endorsed Hillary Clinton in January, the first time they’ve done so during the primary season.

The campaign is meant to target young people, who historically have low voter turnout. It will sign people up to vote, educate them about voter ID laws, and remind them of the election two weeks before. The campaign also focuses on “voter suppression,” as Planned Parenthood has been posting frequently about over Twitter, where the new campaign is also being promoted.

Despite the left’s crusade against these laws, one example of where such laws were enacted, it appears unlikely that young voters in Wisconsin, one of the states with such laws, were suppressed.

“If we can’t all participate in our government, we all get cheated,” said Anna Keene, a Planned Parenthood spokeswoman. “We’re launching the ‘My Vote, My Voice’ campaign to help ensure that every voice is heard and every vote is counted in communities across the country. No matter what your political beliefs are, if you don’t or can’t vote, then you can’t elect officials who will keep your best interests in mind.”

“Our purpose is to engage historically disenfranchised communities,” said Erin Carhart, the Planned Parenthood manager of youth organizing. “Our hope is to encourage folks to participate in democracy.” Planned Parenthood was founded by Margaret Sanger though, a racist and eugenicist, as highlighted by Ben Carson and NFL Star Benjamin Watson, making such statements about these communities grossly ironic.
