Paul Ryan gives millennials hope for the next 4 years

Last week, Paul Ryan’s Town Hall on CNN covered a variety of topics such as healthcare (mainly repealing and replacing Obamacare), Russia’s supposed “hacking” of the United States election, and immigration.

As a millennial who is very politically active and aware, I believe Speaker Ryan outlined outstanding positions, especially on healthcare. I look forward to seeing him work with our President-Elect and fix the many problems in America.

Obamacare is a complete nightmare — it is innately parasitic and socialistic. Obamacare coerces Americans to purchase a health care plan that may or may not suit their needs. Meanwhile, premiums and taxes are skyrocketing and it is apparent that Obamacare is failing.

I’m (almost) 19 years old, I don’t have Obamacare, nor will I ever. Obamacare would only take hard earned money out of my pocket. My “contribution” to Obamacare would merely serve as money to fund the system, while doing nothing for me.

That is unacceptable. Speaker Ryan mentioned one of the plethora of issues with Obamacare is many healthy, young Americans are not purchasing Obamacare, and he’s correct. We are not purchasing Obamacare because it does not suit our needs and we cannot afford it.
