"Other/Wouldn’t" Vote polls higher than Clinton among millennials

Another poll shows Hillary Clinton with a stunningly low amount of support from younger voters.

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll reveals Clinton polling at just 40 percent among millennial voters under 30 years old. Last week, a Quinnipiac poll also showed her with just 40 percent of the vote.

President Barack Obama won more than 60 percent of the under-30 vote in both of his elections, and this meager level of support for Clinton from a key component of the Democrat base could help Donald Trump win. In many pivotal swing states, Democrats are relying on millennials to turn out.

Here’s what is particularly embarrassing. In this latest Reuters poll, “Other/Wouldn’t Vote/Refused” beat Clinton, scoring 40.8 percent of the vote to Clinton’s 40.0 percent. In the Quinnipiac poll, third party candidates garnered 16 percent of the vote, and others have had those numbers even higher.

A plurality of young voters want a different candidate or won’t vote. This could end up being the lowest turnout election for young voters in decades, and Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein will likely target this demographic.
