Millennial Poll: Cruz statistically tied with Clinton, 54% say he’s “likable”

In the last few days, more good news has surfaced for Senator Ted Cruz — beyond his winning streak with convention delegates. Not only is it looking more likely that he will secure a second ballot victory at the convention, but it also appears more likely that he could be competitive with Hillary Clinton to win the presidency.

In the latest Fox News poll, Cruz is statistically tied with Clinton for the presidency; he trails her by just 1 percent. Trump trails her by 7 percent.

The 6 percent gap? Mostly millennials.

While Trump is losing voters under age 35 to Clinton 55 percent to 33 percent, Cruz is statistically tied with Clinton. Cruz trails Clinton 45 percent to 43 percent, with the margin of error being 6.5 percent.

The poll also showed that 61 percent of these young voters believe “Cruz has the knowledge to serve effectively as president.” For Trump, 71 percent of millennials believe he does not have the knowledge to serve.
