Ecuador blocks Assange from dumping more Clinton docs

Ecuador's government has blocked WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's Internet access at the country's embassy in England, where the hacker is staying.

The South American country has "temporarily restricted" the whistleblower after Assange published damaging documents fromHillary Clinton's presidential campaign, according to the Associated Press.

Ecuador's foreign ministry said on Tuesday it still stands by its 2012 decision to grant Assange asylum, but is opposed to how he has attempted to interfere in foreign elections. Officials for Ecuador President Rafael Correa said the government made the decision on its own and not as the result of pressure from the U.S. or other countries.

Many speculated on Monday that Assange had been killed, after WikiLeaks said its Internet access was cut off.

Correa endorsed Clinton for president two weeks ago, Buzzfeed reported Tuesday.
