Dallas Police Chief to protesters: “We’re hiring…become part of the solution”

The aftermath of the Dallas police shooting has not been easy for Police Chief David Brown who has faced death threats and had his decision to kill the suspect with a police robot, but he’s still looking to amend the situation through productive means.

As Fox 4 reported, Chief Brown faces concerns not only for his safety but the safety and mental health of his officers. He could mandate mental health for all of his officers.

He also stands by his decision to use the robot. “I’d do it again. I would use any means necessary to save our officer’s lives and I’m not ashamed to say it,” he said.

Brown has a suggestion however to help not only his police officers, noting that “we’re asking cops to do too much in this country,” but for protesters as well.

“We’re hiring. Get off that protest line and put in an application in and we’ll put you in your neighborhood and we will help you resolve some of the problems you’re protesting about,” he said during a press conference on Monday, inviting them to “become part of the solution.”
