Conservative-leaning group launches Gorsuch ads targeting red-state Senate Democrats

Concerned Veterans for America is launching a series of web ads boosting Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch and targeting Senate Democrats in Colorado, Indiana, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota and West Virginia.

"American veterans fought to defend our Constitution," a narrator says in the ad. "We dedicated our lives to defend it. And Judge Neil Gorsuch would do the same. Qualified. Experienced. Committed to preserving our rights. A justice who will respect the Constitution and uphold it. The Supreme Court justice Americans deserve."

The ads urge the viewers to contact the Democratic senators and urge them to support Gorsuch. The conservative group has started a direct-mail campaign in support of Gorsuch and also held telephone town halls with Republican senators who support President Trump's Supreme Court pick.

"American veterans dedicated our lives to defending the Constitution, and we're confident that Judge Neil Gorsuch will do the same from the Supreme Court bench," said Mark Lucas, Concerned Veterans for America executive director. "Gorsuch's opinions are drawn from the text of the law, not a political agenda, which is why we can trust that he will secure the freedoms we fought to protect.

He continued, "Throughout this nomination process, Americans from both sides of the aisle and all walks of life have stepped forward in support of Gorsuch – now it's time for all members of the Senate to follow suit. CVA activists are committed to letting their elected officials know that confirming Gorsuch is the responsible thing to do, and that senators will have their constituents to answer to if they fail to adhere to the will of the people."
