Bernie Sanders supporters are livid over the leaked e-mails provided by WikiLeaks showing that top officials in the Democratic Party were totally behind Hillary Clinton’s candidacy and were willing to slander the Vermont Senator to ensure she would win the nomination.
More than 20,000 e-mails were leaked on Friday showing that high ranking members of the DNC were attempting to create an anti-Bernie narrative, trying to get him to admit he was an atheist to hurt him in more religious states, and attacking people in the media who were praising the Vermont Senator too much.
Supporters of the Vermont Senator were furious and demanded that he withdraw his endorsement of Clinton. They began tweeting the hashtag #BernieMustDisavow.
The Vermont Senator attempted to meet them halfway by calling on DNC leader Debbie Wasserman Schultz to resign
Nonetheless it wasn’t enough to satisfy people who felt that they had been screwed by Wasserman-Schultz and Clinton. Many said that their candidate in the primary was betraying them and his principles in the general.
