Benghazi mom: Clinton belongs behind bars

The mother of a State Department employee killed in Benghazi assailed Hillary Clinton in a speech at the GOP convention, accusing her of lying to her and other families of the victims — both about the cause of the attack on the diplomatic compound and how U.S. officials planned to communicate with her afterward.

She then argued that Clinton belongs behind bars, not in the presidency.

Pat Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, an information officer at the State Department before the attack, said she blames Clinton for the attack that killed her son and three other "brave Americans" that day, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

"For all this loss, for all this grief, for all of the cynicism the tragedy in Benghazi has wrought upon American, I blame Hillary Clinton," she said to thunderous applause.

"I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son — that's personally," she added, noting that her son had predicted the attack and his own death the day before it happened.
